We welcome you to our family of faith.  We are a growing spiritual community rooted in the Christian Lutheran tradition and with an eye on formulating faith for our future.  Located just a few blocks from the downtown district, the people of First Lutheran has played a prominent role in the growth and development of the City of Williston for over 100 years. Today we are striving to reach out to our diversely growing community and to become a family of faith that reflects that growth.  Whoever you are, and wherever you may be on your spiritual journey, we know you will find a place here among us!

This page will hopefully answer other questions you may have about us.

I'm new here. Don't have much church experience. How do I get started?

We believe the Lord has led you here. He has already been at work in your life guiding you and preparing you. Because he created you, he wants a special relationship with you. First Lutheran is the right place to begin this new journey.

The best place to start is to attend one of our new member orientation classes held twice a year- fall and spring.  However, if you are not ready to make the commitment to become a member, we invite you become a part of one of our music programs, bible studies, adult forums, or other fellowship events.  At any of these  you will make new friends with people who are just like you. Take your time and see if Christian faith and lifestyle works for you. We believe it will.

I was raised Catholic, fell away, ended up coming to faith at a non-denominational Church and haven't gone to church for a while. I'm not "religious." Would I fit in ... ?

Being a follower of Jesus Christ has nothing to do with being "religious." Jesus was killed by the religious people of his day. It's about having a living faith in God and living that faith out in community with others seeking to live out their calling. First Lutheran is a great place to do just that.

I don't go to church but I want to get my baby baptized.  Can you do this for me? Whom do I call?

We'd love to baptize your child. We just ask that you fill out the Baptismal Form and email it to us.  We will then get in contact with you via telephone for a personal visit with one of our pastoral staff who help you understand and have an idea of what you are baptizing him/her into. Of course, you can always stop in for worship with us. Make some friends. Take your time. Check out what Jesus has to offer.
